Did anyone get any photos of sunday show at Detroit, showed my Buick ,but battery went dead. TwoChops
Twochops, congrats on your win. I tried to talk to you a couple times about your Buick but never found you by your car. Attached are some morepix of it and other cars at the show. The Cream ""modified" is mine and the Blue "A" is a HAMB car as well.
Django was there and took 100s of photos. Send him a PM and I'll bet you can persuade him to post a few.
Fasi-- Thanks for the nice comments and pictures you added. I've been showing cars for many years, the EyesOn Design Show may go down as one of my very favorites. Being promoted and judged by auto design stylists makes the comments and approval of my Buick special. Having one of the stylists say that he loved the chop and wished that Buick had let them build that kind of car. Another thing I liked about the show was the poster that was selected and mounted in front of the car. My poster was a picture that they got out of the Buick files and it was dated June 1955 which is two years before it was built. Spent a lot of time explaining to people about how I did the top. A Fun Show. TwoChops
Twochops. EOD is my favorite show for the same reason as yours. Bring your car to Traverse City July 4th to the Hagerty Show. It promises to be one of their best. Keith
Here are a few pics from the show at the Edsel Ford Estate. It was a good time. Lots of beautiful cars. We took the F-100. Got lots of compliments, which was cool. I was parked next to a gentleman and his wife who were there in a '55 Tbird custom that was built in 1955! Awesome! He helped build it with his friend, the original owner/builder. He and his wife were super nice, and excited to learn about the Pileup. Sounds like they might bring it! Oh, and he blew a tire on the way to the show. Yikes! Eyes On Design Photos Lots and lots of them. I'll post a few here though... Here's the '55 F-100 that we built and took to the show. The '59 Edsel belonged to Darren and his wife Jeane. They were super cool and we made fast friends. Turns out they are airplane nuts as well. Darren is a HAMB lurker. I told him to post already! Thanks man for the phone call on the traffic. I would have been screwed! Twochops car of course. So bitchin... This '29 Velocette won the bike class. Gorgeous. There was an exhibit on vintage concept drawings. So rad... Hard to photograph though.
Hit the garage to see Edsel's '41 Lincoln Continental. His '34 Brewster. And his '38 Lincoln. There were lots of vintage campers and I took a lot of pics, but this '38 International (one of a kind) tractor built to pull the '36 travel trailer was too much. Awesome cannot describe this thing. Loved this wagon. Original Shoebox styling models. Wow! I forget the year. Prewar though I think, signed by all the Indy 500 drivers that year. I went back to this exhibit several times. so rad... I really want an old travel trailer. This one with '35 Ford taillights was too much! Cool show. This was our third time to be invited. My only "complaint" is it is at the Edsel Ford estate. Where were all the Fords! Hahaha! Did anyone go to the Motor Muster at Greenwich Village that weekend? I found out too late, or I would have come up a day early for that one as well.
Django-- that shiny black truck of yours sure looked nice and low in that long grass. Fabulous place to show. I don't think a lot of the guys on HAMBs know that this show has such a variety of vehicles. Thanks for the Great Pictures. TwoChops
Time to look for some cars for 2011! The date is again Fathers Day, which is June 19. I will be coordinating a "Stock to Rock" display which will show a stock appearing car next to a modified street rod or custom. I have some great stuff already confirmed, starting with a real-deal just pulled from a barn 1928 Fordor and more! Please check out my post about the 2011 show.
