check out Kustoms Illustrated 13 there is one in the first feature, very similar t what you have there just with what people have said done, lower, wide whites and chrome bumpers, it even uses the vette grill and similar taillight treatment, check it out it would be the dictionary definition of mild kustom 55 Chev.

there was a thread on here a few months ago, all custom tri-5's. try doing a search...
also I remember seeing a cool one at paso like 8 or 9 years ago. It was turquoise, and had a corvette grill, unchopped. I thought it looked really cool. anyone remember that one? Ill look for a pic...

Well, this topic has come up many times before, but I always enjoy seeing more.

Here are a few pics. Yes I know that not all of them are 55s. Hope you enjoy.

Good choices. You took that car back to the early sixties. Looks great under the hood also. Nice job.

This was my buddies car (56 150). It was built around 1995, before the whole "retro crazy" when a rat rod meant it had a big block and patina was called surface rust. It was the first car i ever saw with flat black paint (not primer), scallops other then traditional ones, and a laundry list of other customizations. Unfortunately he sold it and the last time i saw it, it was painted baby blue, was lifted back to stock height and was covered in Kregan and JC Whitney accessories.

I liked the blue better myself as well. It looks super straight, where's the clear?

Yeah i dig the the flat orange better. with the roof done up it will be bad ass. i would still like to see some fatter white walls though but the combo still looks good. oh did ya grind the paint off those bumpers? hurry get them cromed.
