any pictures of 1937 Chevy gassers??

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Kellys Hot Rod Parts, Jan 12, 2012.

  1. One of my current projects is a 37 coupe gasser that was put on the streets in the 70s . I am looking for any info on this car along with any pics of 37 gassers . I will add some more pics so maybe someone will recognize it from some of its modifications..It has a early fiberglass tilt front and rear fenders... Please post your 37 pictures here!!! Thanks Kelly

I think there is another thread about early Chevy Gassers, but this is the first one that always pops into my mind.

It's a 38. Easiest way to tell is the grill. 37 has vertical bars, 38 has horizontal bars.

    That's a 38. Very similar, but different.

  14. ..this 38 coupe belongs to a friend from Maryland, he's owned it for years, drives it everywhere, and it was an old gasser back in the 60's in Illinois.

I'm a Ford guy also but have always loved and wanted a 37 or 38 Chevy coupe-one of the best body styles from the era and there were many of these as Gassers in the 60's

cool photos except for that mail order street rod that's trying to pass as a gasser. I remember building a model back in the early 70s of a 37 Chevy coupe gasser and it had a really cool picture of the 37 in the driveway with this guy working under the car wearing cuffed levis and a white t-shirt. One of the best model box covers ever.

I loved the AMT art work from the late 60's to very early 70's. Reminded of dealer brochure's from the 50's. I recall this kit, a 3 in 1 series if I recall correctly.
