Anyone have any photos of how they installed their lever type brake switches? I need some ideas on a good way to mount one of these. jeff
No pictures. Yet, at KKOA event, I saw a very simple way to mount a brake switch. Drill a half inch hole in the brake pedal, and mount a push switch in the hole. When you smash down the brake pedal (and switch), the brake lights just are guaranteed to light.
This is the GM underdash switch. Brake arm drilled and tapped 1/4-20 for the allen bolt that actuates the switch. Part of the switch arm is sawn off for clearance. The switch is set up so it doesn't take much pedal movement to complete the stoplight circuit. Granted, the switch is for in-cab installs, but it's been under the floor and working fine for 14 years. Running all day in moderate rain and some time spent in Arizona thunderstorms haven't gotten it wet far as I know.
