Searched and found some threads about which disc to use but I'm looking for any tips or advice on how to use one. I have a back of a model A pickup cab that's going to need some shrinking. Its mostly surface rust. Should I sandblast it before I start working it. Tips? Techniques?
Yes , sand blast it first,Then knock down then rough surface of the blasted area with 80 grit on a DA or you will wear out your shrinking very Quickly.Make sure you have ear plugs on.If you have a Sunchaser style,Be careful of the edge as it will rip you open leaving scars for the rest of your life.
I think there are some youtube videos of 'em. I love mine, but x2 on the earplugs and gloves. My wife calls it "the shrieking disc of flatness".
