Still having the monsoon thing going on... and a 4-day weekend coming up. My hood will come out of the acid bath on Friday and I'll ***ess what is next, but would like to get the T-Bolt scoop at least bonded on. May try to get my door weatherstrip on if I can find a helper (free lunch...). Going with my buddy to the machine shop on Saturday to drop off his LS engine.
Try to accomplish last weekend's goal, watch the INDY 500, remember the true meaning of Memorial Day. Bob
Just got to meet and shoot the **** with 1/shot, member here in the board just outside of Dallas Tx. Hella cool guy and help with some puzzle pieces on my sprint car project. Thanks Frank!!! Next time your turn at my place.
Run through the hills just not sure which car. Black Hills National Cemetery on Monday for Memorial Day ceremony. Sent from my A520L using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Finish weld the stainless exhaust, paint the firewall and put the body back on the frame. Glad it's a 3 day'er.....
Actually got the cars out of the garage, 91 degrees and sunny! Tomorrow finish cab mounts for the '40 pickup. So much better than 4 feet of snow.....
Trying to get my front suicide perch plotted for the proper ride height and the parts made. I've been putting this off for a while now. Definitly a "high risk/high reward" project.......
Friday was warm and I got a lot of my hood prep done. Saturday I fibergl***ed the inside support where it rusted through, looks strong. The T-Bolt scoop is on, bonded and pop riveted in place using countersunk rivets.
No car goals other than driving it. My son and I are heading to the hills this afternoon in the '29 after work to do some camping for Father's Day. Then Sunday afternoon between Church there's some sort of hot rod show in the Hills. We'll head to that also. Sent from my A520L using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Clean the car out and vacuum it, getting bad. I have a pull to the right issue, need to make sure my a-arms are tight and check a few other things. I may change the oil too. But I'm working on my yard and patio, trying to get that right before it gets roasting hot.
I will have to see just how hot it is. Temperatures are expected to be 20º-25º above normal. I have some work to do on a tail light surround, and a wheel arch on the Falcon. Full-leather welding gear in 100º heat does not seem wise.
Going to the L.A. fathers Day Car Show tomorrow. The one on the east coast...The Lower Anderson Car Show! HRP
HRP. sorry I had hoped to meet you this weekend, before I melt in the expected heat wave of 110 degrees This will be our first Roadster show with a roadster
Going to work on the coupe this weekend. Gonna do some finish welding, get door tops and b pillars tacked in.
Well, after a few months out of the garage because of demands of the house and family through the summer months I was able to get back into the garage today. I had gotten quite a bit done with the car but never got it back on the road this year, yet. Today I ****ed it up and chopped the top 3", I got it off, cleaned up and set back on with most of the s***ch work done. Ran out of .030 wire for the welder. Before, after and a rear 3/4 shot. Cliff Ramsdell
Got the top stiched together and working on the doors. Both are hung and the tops welded back on. Got some welding and grinding left and then a skim coat. Maybe prime and paint soon. Cliff Ramsdell
I unsuccessfully tried to get my Model A banger to stop leaking from that damn hole used to hold the oil pump in place. I'm considering filling the hole with JB Weld. Someone please talk me into it.
Spent the summer driving the Ford with small issues here and there, brake light switch, solenoid on the firewall. All new parts that were ****, from Napa. My front end pull was a loose lower control arm. I had tightened up the one side when the wheels were hanging, a mistake. Next up is to finish the door seals. The p***enger side is in. Need to do the driver side. It should make the car quieter inside and cut down the drafts.
Took the Willy's all back apart so I can finish body work and paint everything. Just finished painting the frame this weekend.
