Specifically gillette area. Moving there in about a month, was wondering if there is a following or what the scene is... thanks
click on the "members" link and run a search on Wyoming... it might show a few, or WY (is that Wyomings initials?)
DrDano is in Laramie. He also does vintage auto electric stuff. Watch out for him, though - if you're not careful he might try to pawn off a shoebox on ya!
I'm originally from Casper (2 hrs south) and had family in the Gillette area. What I do know is it's the richest county in the state. Probably lots and lots of Hummers and Harleys these days. Too much money and not enough taste in that town if you ask me. Are you headed there for work in the coal industry? I had a good friend in Gillette named Thurman Decker that was one rich SOB. He had an awesome car collection - anything from restored Packards to full on hotrods. I went up there to do a photo shoot of some of his cars and he took me to lunch in his 1938 Buick sedan. He was a little OLD man with cane, fedora and all that. And he eased us out of the parking lot got into the middle of the street and lit the tires up all the way down the block - what a cool dude eh? He owned the Packard that was used in the Godfather (the car in the cornfield hit in the first movie - kick ass scene.) He owned Decker Food Marts and a couple hotels. He died a few years ago, but he was the oldest hotrodder I knew. OHHH, give Humphry's bar a try. If you go look for the biggest dude there Colt Kostanza (yup real name), and tell him Derrick Benson and Eric Black say hey! I also have a couple of good friends in Casper - Jim Hawk, who's a hell of a car builder - great with metal work. John Stevenson, a great upholsterer, and John Kunkle, who owns(owned?) Douglas Intl. Raceway (the only drag strip in Wyoming.) Kunkle has one kick ass Nova.
