I don't know why but my grandparnets always named there cars or trucks and it's something that I started to do as well. It's not a random name but one that has something to do with how you got the truck, who you got the truck from or in the case with my 55 Chevy COE something I found in it. When I removed the gas tank for the inside of the cab and removed piles of old leaves and sticks and dirt that had built up over the last 56 years I found a polaroid picture. It was so dirty I couldn't see what it was a picture of. Thinking that it might give me a little history of the truck I set it in the garage and went back to work. Later that night I remembered that I found the polaroid and went out to the garage to see if I could clean it off and get an idea of how the truck was used. What I could see looked like a person. I took it over to the sink and wiped it off. Not a pic of the truck at all. It was TWO completely naked women making out on what looked to be a 1970 couch! Soooo.... My 1955 Chevy Cab Over Trucks name is. Leslie
I named my truck "trugly" because it is ugly and a truck. I may do a trailer and of co**** it will be "tugly"
I haven't named my truck, but my old jeep was Wilford. My truck was my grandpas. Might be fun to come up with a name.
Well....yeah. They gotta have names! I thought everyone knew the name of their COE. When I found mine in a junkyard, I knew immediately his name was Buford. Now, all my buddies talk about Buford like he's one of the guys......they want to know when he'll be out of surgery.
Who doesn't name their vehicles? I'm sorry to report that it seems there is now another Buford. Mine is a 1941 Ford COE. Other names in my garage are: Elliott, Ollie (he's german), Franklin, Marvin, JJ, Blue and Liquid Hot.
When our 56 lcf won't start when it's supposed to it's called C*NT! When it starts first time 'Sweet' Tim
My granddaughter said my 52 Ford F6 coe was 'tow mater" from the Cars movie, my nick name is Nitro, so I named the truck NitroMater...
My Dad had a '52 chevy truck named "ThunderPig" back in the 70s that he used to haul trash with. Before it was crushed, he used a cutting torch to cut off the hand painted name and picture of a pig. I think theres lightning bolts too but cant remeber. I plan on welding it to the mobile bbq truck im trying to build out of a '52 chevy coe.
My 39 Chevy "stub nose" COE is a very short wheel base Tow Truck. It is still a project, but it got it's name soon after I purchased it 3 years ago. I just call it my Stubbed Toe..... My 39 Chevy two door Sedan got her name when I first drove her to a friends house to show her off. He went right to the front & kissed her on her hood nose. I was in shock, I said if she would let him kiss her, she probably would let any one kiss her. So she got here name, she's a " Dammm HUSSY " My 47 Chevy Aerosedan was called " JEZZABELL " See my photos & you will know why. She would fool around with any one, even a dog... My 53 Ford PU was " Old sweet Betsy " When she would not start, I would talk to her & call here sweetie, she would always start for me. Drove her for over 20 years & she never left me walking........... "ONLY FORD I HAVE EVER OWNED" does any one know were I can find a Grill for my 39 1-1/2 ton Chev???
