That(if I'm not mistaken)is the Carroll Brothers old car.It was from Chelsea M***achusetts originally. It's a chopped 55 Ford and has a 430 Lincoln motor with Hilborn injection and a Ford truck rear end.The chrome roll bar was made from exhaust tubing. John Carroll bought it new in 55 and chopped it in 56.It was called the Whale or the White Whale. He and his brother Timmy(now deceased)also owned a 27T show car called the Moose. The car sat at Timmy's house in Haverhill MA for years until he died. The Olds headlight rims give it away. I wondered what happened to it.

Cool car. Too bad the cool **** ends up on Ebay, where idiots with more money than knowledge buy something that the average guy would love, and the price on everything similar gets jacked up accordingly. I can't say how many times I've heard, "well I can get **x on ebay, so that's the price I want..." It'd be a fun car, no doubt! Jay

[ QUOTE ] Hot Damn! That's the coolest '55 I've ever seen. Y'all know of any write ups with more info on it? [/ QUOTE ] I don't think there was ever a feature done on the car.It appeared in several of the old East coast little books in the late 50's and early 60's.I'll see if I have any of them in my collection. I used to hang around with Timmy back in the early 60's.Did some paint work on the Moose once.It was called that because the rear window in the top was cut out in the shape of Bullwinkle. Timmy always had some wild cars.He had a tall T coupe that was built in the 50's as a hot rod,he had a Pontiac powered 34 cabriolet and an unbelievable collection of old car parts. He battled cancer for many years before finally suc***bing several years ago.I think most of the collection was eventually sold off.His brother who built the 55 lives somewhere in Florida now. Ray
To me, it looks like they tried to mix 2 styles that just shouldn't be mixed, no nonsense race car and kustom.
yeah my step dad gave me a little history on the car and the guy. He said he went to the guys house once when they were having a car club meeting and the barn was filled with all kool old hot rod stuff. i love this car and im going to build something like it some day!!! Nate
Oh, the memories! I remember that car at the Sanford drags and I believe it ran a few years at the NE Dragway after that. There was a big barn auction in Haverhill a few years ago and all that stuff Safari mentioned went every which way. I picked up several custom and intake items, prices were fair. Dont know who in Enfield is selling it, I'll ask Big Bill Aramanian who was very close to the Carrolls and has a ton of stuff that they all sort of collected together.
i know the guy who is selling it but dont know were it is. the guy drives around a white 34 ford with white walls etc. He tried selling me a 41 ford once and i have his card to his shop! nate
