My Friend Gary Bostdorf who passed away about 15 years ago? I believe He left his unfinished 50 Merc to a guy named Layne. I think of Gary when I'm working on something that's giving me fits.
Gary's car was sold by Lane Anderson to someone in Pa, not sure what part of Pa. and I do not remember the persons name that bought it. The candy red one with 54 Merc taillights is not Gary's car. It is a 51 and owned by Bill Langley who now lives in Va. Lane did some work on Bills car about the same time Gary died. Lane was willed Gary's 32 project and has finished it since moving to South Dakota. Lane was a good friend of Gary's and helped Gary's father settle the estate.
The 32 was a glass roadster which was never assembled. Gary owned it for years and was accumulating parts prior to his death. The Merc was purchased from a used car lot on rt 40 near Applebee Rd. I think the Green 32 pu you are thinking about was built by Lane for a man in Wisc. where Lane lived for several years.
Thanks to all, I've wondered about that car for a long time. I'm sure it's in good hands. Gary and I worked together at Louviers. I really liked that 50 and remember the 32 project also. I remember putting up some plastic ceilng panels in his garage when he first moved into his house. Wow what a pack rat. Gary gave my wife and I a really cool planter for our wedding and we still use it. I'll get a picture posted, it's a classic.
Who is 8inarow? Sorry I'm not proficient navigating the HAMB. Allmotor alerted me to my name appearing on this thread. Lane Anderson Custer,SD
