I forgot to bring a good camera to the drags and am hoping somebody might have snapped some good launch/burnout photos of my car. My car was the Orange '48 Plymouth with the ProCharger on it and "CSRE" on the rear quarter windows (image attached). If anyone has any good shots, please e-mail them to me at proddev@procharger.com. I had a great time at the drags, if it happens again next year, I'll certainly try to make some complete p***es rather than the early shutdowns I was making this weekend. I was having problems with the fuel injection system so I didn't want to risk tearing anything up. Maybe next year I'll have the "big" blower on it. Thanks to all

I was wondering where you think you'll end up ET wise. I was figuring 9.7's since you were shutting down half way rolling through at 12.30's at 62 MPH.... Hmmmmm.... pretty strong... and welcome to the HAMB.... Sorry I didn't get any "in action" pics of your car...

  8. Some of the *****wadded****s here might not think your car is HAMB material but it gave me wood! If your are a pal of KCTAChris, your are a pal of mine.

You are however still a ***** for not showing us a real p***! [IMG] Hope to see it run next year.

    Hey Ryan...

Are you taking pics in both B&W and Color, or are you converting them to B&W in your Photo editing program? I have tried it both ways and off my Camera they seem to look better if they are taken in B&W originally. Kind of a pain in the **** to constantly switch the camera back and forth though...

I just thought if you were converting them, you must have a better editing program than what Minolta supplys with their Camera's...

I use a Nikon D100 - there are no settings really to shoot b/w. Here's what I do (and remember that I am a total hack):

First, I decide if I want the image to be b/w or color. This usually has a lot to do with the setting and what I think I see. Once I decide, I can then set up my camera to optimize it for the format.

For example, if I wanna shoot b/w I usually want more contrast and deaper blacks. I do this by playing with the apeture, exposure, etc... Once I get the image back home I take it into Photoshop and convert it to b/w.

I've tried converting images that I originally shot to be color, but I never have that good of results without really messing with them in Photoshop.

I think the new age photographer is going to really have to pay attention to digital manipulation after the shot. Hank Cash is a good example - I believe he does a lot of photoshop **** and the results are very good.

Before you first post police get all worked up, better tell you bout this guy... when I was 16 trying to learn the basics to get my '39 on the road this kid in my cl*** tells me about his '48 Plymouth. Well that was the start to one of my best frendships for over 15 years and my introduction to real old school hot rods. This is the car that we cruised in high school, drive the hell out of, and street raced on the weekends. The car is true survivor, back then running bias ply on chrome reverse on the back and M/T mag 5 spokes up front. Grey primer, black tuck and roll and a killer 327 with a 4/speed. This really was the fastest car in town. Best yet it was his dads hot rod in the 60's and truley is 100% owner built.

The car changed some over the years only to get faster with a little bit of that Fat Jack style, after all who gives up 2 tenths to run chrome reverse and the heaviest bumpers made? CSRE also has the dream job for the speed guys, and knows his way around a motor. He builds all my stuff and after 7 years I can still stand on it all day long and drive it home.

Welcome to the board Chris, I wouldn't be on the road today without your help.

CSRE...I was eyeballing your coupe, thinking I might come over and challenge your anemic flathead 6 popper to a drag race against my blazingly fast black 41 Pontiac coupe parked up against the guard rail but you brought your car to the line before I could hustle over there. I had both my digital and my video camera but when you came off the line with that car, my mouth fell open and I dropped my gum into my camera...I missed getting any photos of it, thinking if I was looking through a view finder, I might miss watching the car pull both front wheels in real time..
Holy ****! I'm the guy that asked you if the engine was a 440 out of last year's nitrous dodge pickup that ran low 10's there last year. Then, I saw it was a pro-charged small block chevy! A few guys in the stands remarked the car seemed a little heavy for a serious contender but the back tires [looked like mickeys] seemed to blaze at will, no matter how much weight was on them!
    I gotta have a pro-charger on my 239 flathead 6!
Got any brochures on your product?

Hardly... You have a pretty good eye for pictures. My Minolta DiMage has B&W and Sepia built into the Camera, but you have to bring up the menu and push about 4 ****ons to change it. In other words, whatever you are taking a picture of had better be standing still...

You are right though, contrast is what seems to be lost when I try and convert from Color to B&W. I can adjust for it in the editing program, but it just seems to look better if the image was originally B&W.

Thanks for the complements. I agree the car isn't ******** HAMB material, but it is 100% built by me. I did all the body work, all of the ch***is work, all of the engine work, trans work..etc. I did not pay anyone a dime to do any of the work on the car. At a glance it may look like a racer, but it is more low tech and built for less than you might think. I still occasionally drive the car to work (25+ miles in heavy traffic). As KCTA Chris mentioned, I have always been a big fan of Fat Jack's '46 Ford coupe and have used that car as a template for the style of my own car. This car has been in my family for almost 40 years and won't be going anywhere soon. As far as the potential, when i gete everything sorted out, the car ought to run 9.80's or so with the small blower that is on it right now, and 9.30's-9.10's with the big blower. Again, i ahad a blast, thanks to all of you for making me feel welcome.

Yea, Rashy's right! Everytime you ran I would tell everyone to watch. I wish you could have made a full p***. I was still amazed at your 60 foot times and mile per hour. I think the tower guys said 111 mph at the 80 ft. mark and then your final mph was always like 96 mph. I was hoping you would just let it loose for a whole p***. Very cool ride. I know HankCash has some pics of your car for sure.

    later,
