Who recognizes the pink grill...anyone...anyone? Come on you can do it....

Yep. Can't remember who originally built the car, but the McCombs' in Colorado (Loveland?) restored it. It's that beautiful channeled, but full-fendered '32 roadster painted in '59 Buick Lido Lavender. Interesting story about the nose of the car and some other parts being reunited with the original car prior to restoration. Can't remeber the details though.

Some guys say theres don't fit in well this ones not a car so guess it dosent either! this was a daily driver for the first 14 years I was a kid in this shape! This picture was the day I pulled it out of storage 30+ years later not running, and think I will spend this weekend with him finishing it . Thanks

Here is what my dad bought new in 1932. We still have the car. It is a '32 Chevy Confederate four door Standard sedan. It still runs and we actually took tours of the US in it on several occasions. I still have the original plates and all of the sales papers for the '32 sale. I did pull the axles and running gear and replace it with later Chevy inline six items.

  11. I posted a whole bunch of "new" old cars from the family photo album here.

    Here are some samples.

That's my grandmother, straddling the radiator mascot on a Pierce Arrow.

These are some of her friends. I love this because the license plate is from '33.

    That's Amore!

That's dad. There's a Wyandotte cattle truck in the bottom left of this that we still have to this day. It isn't even in very rough shape.

This is my uncle. It also shows that just because they used fake Oldsmobile flipper wheelcovers in the early 1960s, it doesn't make it right.

    That's me with my dad's '61 Corvette in 1978.

And that's me more recently, same Corvette, same original paint, bent up moldings, same everything, with my son behind the wheel. My dad would have never let me do that!

It's a new shot, but he's had it for 47 years. It's a 59 with a 230 horse 285 and a glide. 86,000 original miles, never been restored, true survivor. Before this, he had a rodded dual quad 58 with a 3 speed that looked identical (except for the chrome strips on the trunk), but had a gutted interior.

My Dad wrecked a lot of good shetmetal in the day I would love to find one of his old cars and if nothing else just hang it on the wall.

Here is a picture of my Dad's 35 Chevy Standard Coupe. It was taken in 1963, that is me in his lap and my Sister. The car had a 54 Buick nailhead, a 39 Buick roadmaster transmission with 41 gears and a olds tailshaft, a 54 olds rear and a 34 Ford front axle with hydraulic brakes. Someone stopped by one night (a year or so later) and offered him what was a lot of money for the car at the time and that's the last he seen of it.

My avatar. My dad in 1956, "barnstorming" atop his '32 Ford 2-door, and his buddy's coupe. This is the car my folks dated in. I was born the next year, in 1957. I rode in that car before I was even born.

    Quick story...

Mom and Dad in the '32, Dad decides to pass the semi-truck/trailor in front of them. They get halfway past the truck, and the truck-driver, not seeing my folks, decides to pass the car in front of him, and pulls to the left, forcing the young couple over. As they were bouncing down the edge of a ditch, my dad put in the clutch and revved his engine...he had no horn, but had dual straight-pipes. The noise caused the truck-driver to take notice, and quickly get back into the r.h. lane, saving my parents, and maybe my little unborn ass too...lol.

    Lots of cool pictures here.

  22. This is my Uncle Bill taken in El Centro CA 1942. One of my favorite people. A year later he was a soldier in the South Pacific. Look at the carpet glued to the door panel ... pretty hi-tech!

Flash forward to 1969, this is my 34 Ford. Parked in front of Uncle Bills duplex, he rented it to me. He help me put in the SBC. Today that would be called a "bonding moment". I got drafted right after this pic was taken and Bill died while I was in basic training .... RIP.

My dad John Vaughn age 14. Bought the car for $40.00 with two front flat tires. Tires wore completely off when car was dragged home with a tractor. Neighbor took picture from front porch.
