Stockton wheels is supposed to be making me some "Milners" with 14's for the front with 5on5 bolt patterns. They called yesterday to try "to talk me into" 15's for the front.

The guy said that using the centers on a 14 will eliminate most of the vent. I can live with that. He also said that there is a good chance that some of the chrome will blue when they weld the centers to the rim.

These guys billed close to $700 on my CC three weeks or so ago. Now it looks like I get what they want to give me, or take a chance of 'em being messed up. I really don't want to have to buy new tires for the front, and I like having the small wheels and tires up there.

Anybody have chrome 14x5's with the big bolt pattern?
    Any advice?

  2. Call the CC co and have the payment revoked.
Then get in touch with Wheels By Paulsen in French Camp, Ca.
For the price the chrome ought to be right down town. What kinda wheel manufacturer chromes before welding?

Your doing good with them if its been only 3 weeks. I'd go with the 15's...I think they look better.

Man... didn't we talk about this? [IMG] I've dealt with Stockton Wheel, Wheel Vintiques, and Pete Paulsen, and Paulsen was by far the easiest to deal with... Stockton Wheel was the worst. I returned 3 sets of wheels (on their dime) 'cuz they couldn't make a set to fit the Buick drums.

Sorry to hear about the trouble getting what you paid for. That sounds like they are trying to pan off some messed up wheels on you by saying they forwarned ya.
I have a set of 14x5, and 15x8 original Americans, but no steel chrome wheels. Its a different look, but an option none the less.
