Has anyone installed A/C in a 56 Customline. I want to use the vintage air Gen IV unit but would really like some feedback. I see in the alliance we have a couple vintage dealers or I could get it at my local rod shop.

    Input would be great.

Puting AC in my 56 wagon, but found a complete unit out of a 59 Ford. Just using the interior part to keep it looking somewhat stock.;)

I have a Vintage Air setup in my '53... this is the fourth car that I have owned that has Vintage Air/Heat system.... never had a problem with any of them. Check with the Alliance group here and ask for a discount, you will probably get one.

I have vintage air in my two 54's and 55. I have what they call monster super cooler. I use this unit in all my cars. This is for a large vehicle. It keeps the Fords super cool even when I went to Las Vegas in 120 heat. Next time I may try the Gen II . In my 59 Dodge I used two units Monster super cooler in front and a super cooler trunk unit due to the large size of interior. Works great!!!!! All have heat/defrost,a/c. plus All are hidden behind dash. Sorry but I do not like the hang under dash type.

Dwaynerz do you have the Gen II or the Gen IV? The monster super cooler is discontinued unit I believe replaced by the Gen II.

have the gen II. granted, the heat is only used on chilly spring/fall days, and defroster isnt used to melt snow/ice off the windows. im mostly concerned with the ac to keep momma happy. she's happy so im happy. next project will be power steering to make her really happy as she wants to drive it to work on occasion.

Cool thanks. I measure it up and I think the Gen IV will fit so I am going to try that. If not we will make room. LOL..

Curious, what are yall doing for vents? Cutting holes in the dash, hanging them, adding to a console? I want to do this one day and not sure where/how I want to do the vents.
