I know this has been covered before, but what I don't think I've seen is a pic of a '39-'48 m/c mounted on the passenger side in a '32 frame w/stock K, stock pedals and the stock cross shaft/equalizer. I think I can see how to do it, but somebody usually has a better idea than me. Also, any pics of handbrake setups? Thanks
A magazine picture, if you can find it: When Monogram brought out the 1/8 scale "Big Deuce" roadster model, they commisioned Winfield (?) to make over an already built hot rod to look like the model for car show promotions. R&C did a pictorial spread showing the chassis, with an unfortunately unclear picture of such a setup. Don't bother buying the model--it doesn't share this feature. Also, I believe that "We're only '32" sells a setup for this.
I made a bracket with a bell crank on it My pedals already had a hanging down arm. It takes the for and aft motion from the bottom of the pedal and makes it go left and right. I am using a camero dual cylender and it mounts to this bracket on the pass. side behind the x mem. I wanted to run the stock battery box and this lets me do that. It also doesn't require ANY mod to the cross mem. The bracket utilizes the stock holes for the orig. brake shaft. I would take a picture but I don't know how to post it yet
I've got those MEC pages on my site. They don't have a '32 specific solution to convert the brakes. They only show a 2 bolt to 3 bolt adapter like for a '40 Ford. http://lonestar.texas.net/~mcdaniel/Mec2.jpg http://lonestar.texas.net/~mcdaniel/Mec5.jpg
I'm pretty sure they now have two different '32 MC brackets. Anything from the web is several years old--they no longer seem to have a site. They make quite a few interesting goodies, such as dogleg castings to hook up lower rad hoses and '32 engine mounts. An outfit called I think the Early V8 garage makes a neat setup that is entirely bolt-in, putting the MC right next to the stock battery box: BRAKES, hydraulic conversions, 1932-1938 Ford 106" and 112" wheelbase; bolt-in kit mounts USA master cylinder using original pedals, hand brake handle and battery location; master and wheel cylinders, hoses, prebent lines, fittings, brackets, clips and all other parts also available; no drilling, cutting, welding required; please specify year and model; Visa, MC, AmEx, Disc.
