Hot Rods Anybody have problems with Speedway?

  1. Speedway has been nothing but good to me,,,
Not without problem or issues but they’re good about correcting them.

Law of averages though I guess.
If you do one deal a year and happen land on a bad one it’s possible you won’t ever get to see the 500 a day they get right.

It's possible it's an email back-up on their end. This happened just this week with Summit Racing for me. Hang in there and resend or sent new emails daily.

That is what I am hoping for. I have hope that his kids won't rip off other vendors like speedy bill did. He always pretended to want to sell your products then as soon as you worked with him he would copy you're product and then dump you. Too lazy greedy and cheap to do his own research and development. Easier to use someone else's hard work money and time and take the money and run. The guy had no integrity at all.

The problem is wanting custom tailored suits and service at Walmart prices , can't make a living like that !!

You are totally right on Speedy and copying someone else's product then stop selling the original product and only sold their ripoff products. I worked at one time for SpeedwayMotors and saw this happen more than once. Bill Smith is looked at as an icon, but in business practices was a scoundrel.

I thought so too. They made a change at check out. At check out unless you the buyer do not specify free shipping they'll wack you for shipping.
I called and was led by the phone help to show me this change.

One thing I've always liked about dealing with them is they WILL change items in a kit. Say a front axle kit comes with their hairpins and heim end style frame mounts. I've swapped those to Curtis style hairpins and tie rod style ends for the frame mounting end. All you do is pay the difference between the parts. I've even had it where my way was cheaper then the normal kit they sold.

Another time I traded projects with a guy. He had bought a bunch of street rod style stuff I didn't need/want. I loaded it all up and drove over to Lincoln (4 hours from home) and returned a bunch of it. I had his receipts and everything was still in the boxes. They took back over $2000 worth of stuff and gave me a Speedway credit card with that much on it. Turned around and bought all the stuff I wanted.

Great to deal with, no complaints here.

The key there was that you gave them the part numbers you wanted swapped and from there it wasn't an issue, Pull these parts and put them in the box and delete those parts off the list. Then calculate the difference. No one off custom made parts.

It’s not a perfect world....anywhere. My experiences with Speedway, though sporadic, have always been very satisfactory. It had been awhile, but just last week I ordered about $500 worth of suspension parts....shipped super fast and ‘free’ without any request to do so.

I also use Summit and, occasionally JEGS, and have always had good service from them too.

Speedway, as well as Summit, has always been helpful to me. No problems whatsoever with their representatives.

Well, like I said in my previous post, they did email me back with detailed answers. No they don’t offer a longer bucket. Like mentioned, no modifications , take it or leave it. And that’s ok. I appreciate all the other leads to the extended kits. I have to ***ume it was just a email back log. But for six days it seemed like I was just ignored. And I realize it’s not a perfect world. Everything is ok! No complaints.
