I was rooting around in my attic and found a set of Ansen Super Ground Grabbers that i bought in the 70's. They are quite a bit different than the standard ansen ******* bar since they are box tubing steel and replace the U bolts for the rear end with a plate and bolts. They have bots with plates in front of and behind the rear end. Has anybody seen these and what are they worth?

That's why i was looking for a real world value. Many times bidding wars get people to pay way too much for "period correct" ****. I don't have a clue what i paid for them new. I know i built a complete 292 small block chevy back then for $400 including machine work. That was in 1972.

I see more of them closing at $350 on Fleabay with no bids than I do buys. I personally like the flat bar style better, and wouldn't pay over $75 for them either. I'd probably fab up my own set to look like Ansens before I'd pay Fleabay prices.

I thought that must have been an inflated price for yesterday's technology. i am running a set of CalTrac bars now and the difference is day and night.

Hard to beat Cal Tracs, even if they're not traditional looking. They still build the old style Tractionmaster traction bars, and they're pretty cheap, plus identical to what they built in the 60's. If I wanted nostalgic they're a good choice, that also works well.
