absolutely the reason I've had 3 '42 Fords - that grille is "the nuts" - tasteful, and better looking (IMHO) than the 46-48. Reason you don't see many (of course) is that 1942 production ceased early due to the outbreak of WWII (for the US anyway) - many of the 42s were done as "staff cars".
