Technical Anybody Out there have a '37 or '38 Club Cabriolet With Henry Top Irons?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by anothercarguy, Jul 14, 2023.

  1. Hi guys,

Working on our '38 club cabriolet and I'm trying to figure out if all these twists and bends are supposed to be there (first photo the piece inside the black circle)? I took a couple photos from slightly different angle to show how twisted up this piece seems to be. I know the crack needs some work and ignore the mismatched/missing hardware/fasteners...I got that covered. Parts of the passenger side of my top were also missing, so I have bits and pieces from a couple different
tops and at least one of the pieces is somewhat similar though also cracked into 2 pieces so I know that is a at the very least a weak point. In fact, I'm not sure the 2 pieces in the photo are actually from the same top frame.

Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide..

  2. Anyone? Are the top irons for the DeLuxe cabriolet (one seat) the same in this area?

  3. Just answering my own question to close the thread and in case it shows up in a future search...the twists are not supposed to be part of the link shown above. The twists prevent the stack from laying flat. This is the right side after being welded and straightened. 20230715_132426.jpg

I think you will manage to figure it all out before we lead you astray.
