Jon Kosmoski, (House of Kolors guy) had a similar cougar grilled truck a few years back, if I remember right. It was purple though.

I really like that truck Scoob...

Wow !...nice score !...it's not "right"...but I can't put my finger on it...it kinda looks like the box doesn't match the cab...maybe the back of the chop should be lower to work better with the back of the box ?...definately lowering it and wheels and tires would make it come together better...how about a roadster PU ?....It would be good to find some history on it before chopping it up...but what a great score...I won't get to sleep tonite trying to think of what I would do !...

yeah, where is Rikster??? I didn't think it was possible to stump the HAMB! I don't think this one ever qualified as being "important" though.

For $900 bucks thats a steal! I think it has lots of potential with just a few changes. First thing would be loose the grill :( What are your plans for it? I think it would be pretty cool to do it 70's style shag carpet an 8 track, a CB and metal flake.

You could also easly swing it as a early 60's truck with the right changes. At any rate good find!

This thing gets here tomorrow. I was thinking about this though and I have a two seater VW, a two seater F100, and now another two seater truck. I don't know why I can't find fun four seaters. It'll probably get sold or traded shortly but I will make some quick much needed changes on it (grill and tail lights). There is a nice sbc and four speed in the classifieds that needs to slip into this too. maybe...

Wow man, the Rikster comes through again. That's CRAZY. The rear treatment looks like it was inspired by the Kopper Kart a bit. You could name it the PCP Kart!

I love it! Its a neat old truck for the right price. Its funny how a car or truck end up. Not too long ago it was a running, driving and crazy painted. Look what happened to it. It makes me wonder some time what people are thinking.

You seem to find the coolest but weirdest customs. What was that original paint supposed to be anyway, the guts of a tomato? Makes me think of the Corvette from Corvette Summer :D I do think it has tons of potential, keep us posted.

It's true. That truck is going to another HAMB'er up in Michigan. I hope to see it back on the road soon. I have faith. I needed some money to throw towards the bug and didn't need another two seater.

Rikster, THANK YOU for finding some history on this thing. I knew there had to be some. You are the seer of all things!

I'm surprised that it was at a kkoa meet 27yrs. ago only to end up in the same fate as most other customs....forgotten.

Well this is sure a neat find ... I'm not sure, but the roof is from a 53/4/5 Ford truck, and looks like the whole thing started as one. Interesting blend of the fenders to doors, the bed looks to have been insprired by the Barris' Kopper Kart. After doing the story on the clone of the Kart that will debut in Detroit I couldn't help but notice that. Check out Still Runnin's 1st issue and see the Kopper Kart feature at www.stillrunnin.com Still Runnin is a new magazine runnin up and down the east coast, it is designed for real people, real stories, real homegrowns, Not the rich and famous. Good Luck with your find.

Well, it made it here today, safe and sound. I didn't spend a lot of time with it, because the guys dropping it off were loading the roadster pickup and headed back to Houson with it and I was on a time crunch myself. But I can tell that initial reaction and answer a few questions about it. It appears someone did a nice job on it at one time - LOOOONNNNGGG ago. The chassis has been sanded smooth and very well painted, although I understand there are some welding issues that need to be addressed - I haven't looked yet. The cab is definitely a mid 50's Ford F-100 can. The reason it looks funny is when the chop was done, the rear of the cab was pie cut and brought up to match the roof. I think that's what doesn't look right. The same thing was done with the doors as well. The top bar was slanted down and the rear frame was canted forward. I may just start with new doors and cab roof. The dash is nice, tons of holes for every gauge you could ever want to know and then some. Incredible amounts of plastic are falling out and what isn't falling out is cracking. The stuff was laid on way too thick. That's going to take the most time, no question. Still set up with parallel leaf front end. I might change that.

I was thinking dropping it back to a 50's look similar to the Kopper Kart. Slam it down, some wide whites, reverse chromes or Tru-Spokes. Possibly a bright white tuck and roll interior and padded dash with lots of chrome. If I take some really squared up photos would someone be willing to help me by photoshopping some colors and scallops onto it? I'm thinking white scallops with heavy metallic color on the body. Thinking the Copper, or light Olive Green, or possibly Gold. Not opposed to any color really, those just seem to stick out in my head as common 50's custom colors.

I will start a new post to document the process.

Thanks for any help in advance.

    Bruce

I am very much open to suggestions for everything from taillights to grille to interior ideas and paint and tire schemes.
