Back in mid 70's I answered an ad in the Baton Rouge paper for a '67 Nova race car. It was called the Dixie Twister. The guy said it was driven from the dealer to the race car shop , completely gutted (no windows, crude tube ch***is, etc.) and usually ran big block power with fuel injection. It had spindle mount Halibrands and was painted blue. He had a few pictures of it racing the Jegs speed shop car out of New Orleans. This was before bracket racing and the car was pretty much outdated to run competively.
one of the platts had the dixie twister ....the only i have pics of is a updated to 65 nova....with fastback roof.....pretty sure it got balled up.....brandon
Does anyone know what front axle they ran in this car? I was thinking 1953 ish Chevy truck but the ends look funny. Anyone up in the history of this car?
1955 truck axle Bill Thomas originally offered fibergl*** fastback kits https://www.hotrod.com/features/sou...-1965-chevy-ii-nova-fastback-1965-ford-falcon
Got to see the car run at the Southeast G***ers at Union County Dragway in Union, South Carolina a few years ago. HRP
Very interesting article from Hot Rod Magazine, dated June 16, 2016, on the Hot Rod website. I tried the link but couldn't get it to work.
