Just got my 255/70r15 gripmax cl***ic g/t tires in and I mounted them, gotta say I like the looks of them.

Price was 138.00 each on a ebay with a discount coupon. For the price I'm really happy, downside is this is the biggest they make in a 15" tire. They go small though so once I get my car together I think I'll replace the fronts, 165/80r15, with a matching set of these.

A lot cheaper than many white walls out there...

That’s not the typical narrow white wall of the mid 60’s up but look good I hope work out. Calli also makes this style on Hankook tires. What were the date codes? Nice wheels too!

I like that width of whitewall, that's what I had on my 49 Chevrolet 4 door bomb. they were cut into skinny whitewalls or maybe white letter tires. not a big fan of wide whites on most cars

    Date code 4524.

Yeah these are for my 31 Tudor.

At the price for these I won't mind a little "exhibition of speed" every once in awhile.

I really like to have a set of ww pie crust slicks but at over 600 a piece I'd be nervous everytime I heard the tires squall...

I bought a set of 215 75 15 in April but haven't driven on them yet. Great for a "this is what they ran in 1962" look as far as the whitewall goes.
Being 78 and having graduated from high school in 1965 I remember that in the early 60's customs started running the narrow white walls as soon as they showed up on new cars on the showroom floor. Most of the time over the years white walls on fresh custroms and a lot of rods were the same style as what the new cars in the dealers showrooms had on them. In 64 even the portawalls were narrow whitewalls. My dad sent me a set of blackwall tires for my 55 Metro and I didn't like the black wall so I went down to the parts house and bought a set of and the only set I ever bought portawalls.
