I did a search but didn't find what I was looking for. Looking to hear from people with experience using the por15 with the mat to repair small holes in floors. My trunk has a few small pinholes and is a bit thin in each of the "beads" from standing water but is overall solid. I have replaced the entire interior floor in my 52 but yeah, I'm looking for an easy way out on the trunk. This stuff has been around too long to not to serve a purpose. Don't be ashamed. Come clean and let me know how it worked for you.

I didnt use their kit, but did take por 15 and brush it over a fiberglass mat to cover some holes, at the time it was a temp fix because I had planned on cutting the floor out at some time, then sold the car, of course it still looks great and is super solid....may actually be better than the reg resin

I just brushed it over some pinholes the size of pencil lead and it filled without mat.

Worked great for me in filling small pinholes by just brushing it on.

  5. It works just like they say it does. If you just have small pin holes you probably don't need the mat, but you can use it anyway for added strength.

That POR stuff is great. I wouldnt buy the kit just get the paint. It works better on slightly dirty metal. It has more to grip to. I have had some on new clean metal and it chips but where it was on the rusty wire brushed areas its locked on.

I had the same experience with it. Paint it right over rust and it sticks like glue. Paint it over sandblasted steel, and it's not as good.

On something like a thin trunk floor,I'd paint both the inside of the trunk floor and the bottom under the car. Give it a double coat like that and it's sealed forever.

The one thing you have to watch is that any area painted with POR-15 that is exposed to sunlight will "bleed out". If the sun hits it,give it a top coat with regular paint.

Curious as to how thick the fiberglass mat you used. Was it the woven cloth or true mat? I've got some of each but I was thinking about using some 1/8" mat cut to fit into the beads which is where my metal is the weakest.
