I've got a 92 Crown Vic with low miles and a rusty frame. Have been tossing around the idea of using the engine and trans in a hot rod, roadster, or T bucket. Can you change to carburetors or keep the EFI? What about all the electronic controls? Has anyone done this?

I see a gentleman at gatherings here in SoCal with a maroon 40 Ford coupe using one. Fills the engine compartment like a hemi. He has a lot of the engine parts either polished or plated. No photos but next time I see the car I’ll take a few..

I’ve a similar thing coming up but GM, not Ford. So I went to the OT forums and found out what it took to swap to a carburetor, I’d bet a Mustang site would get you the info you need.

Having a junk car is a kind of lousy reason for using a particular engine in a hot rod.

4.6 Fords are off topic here, better find a different site to discuss that
