Anybody went .080 over ?

    Got the 35 motor torn down, I was happy with what I found. The internals look great, no ridge on walls, adjustable lifters, alum pistons .060 over. Number 7 has some pitting that is to much for the ole hone. I've seen pistons .070 over but not .080. Anybody out there been that far, I dont think .070 will do it.

    Have your block x-rayed. That WILL tell you wall thickness and what you can get away with. I had mine done at local engine builder for 125.00 and found out I can get away with .80 66 427 BBC

    I'm ***uming your talking about a Flathead, I had my 46 motor bored to .080 over, but it's a 3-3/16 bore to begin with.
