Anybody: Will Granada Disc Brakes work on 54 Merc??

I have read where the Granada disc brake setup works under 55 and up Ford & Mercs but can't seem to find anybody who knows if they work under a 54 Merc. The local wrecking yard here has three Granada's with the brakes still on them, So I need to know if they will work just as on the 55's and up. Any input would be greatly welcomed. Thanks!

 

Should, front crossmember and control arms are the same 54 55 56 mercs,

 

Thanks for the reply. I have been trying to find out for sure as I really don't want to buy the setup untill I find out for sure. And end up wasting my hard earned $$$ on something that will require alot of extra work and then not work. I always thought they were alike but sometimes it pays to ask questions first. Ken

 

Someone is actually charging you money for parts off a GRANADA!

 

I think Granada's have 9" rearends too ...

 

Most have 8" but 9" with disc brakes was an option.

 

Ultra ULTRA rare option on a Granada, but standard equipment on it's Lincoln cousin, the Versailles.

 

I found one in a Mercury Monarch years ago, only one I've ever seen around here. Haven't seen one of the Lincolns in a long time. They were popular for awhile but parts for them have gotten expensive even if you can still find them.
