Well with you guys talking about long haul rods, does 7900 mi in 4 wks count? I've put 30,000 on it since Aug of 04. It's been as far east as Prince Edward Island, west to Ca. (twice) and south to Fla.

That's the way I feel also. Some of the days in that 4 weeks it wasn't even driven. It's a reliable ride and I did what NSRA refers to as the Ironman Run, Saramento to Tampa. Left Sacramento on Sun afternoon and was in Tampa early Thurs.

That is AWESOME. I hope I have the time and money to drive mine that much when it is done! :) OUr goal is to put a few thousand miles in my 47 this summer if i get it done in time. Our 20th anniversary is this year and my wife and I hope to do a tour somewhere. Needless to say I am doing a lot of thrashing in my spare time...

They are out there. The one I have had been sitting outside in Northern MI since 79. I own the house right next to where it was, but I am not at the place very often. But I have seen the car sitting there for nearly as long as I can remember. I never dreamed the guy would sell it. I just happened to be in the right place and the right time, and I actually had the money.

Is distance a big factor for you? Cuz if it isn't I'll keep my eyes open. I run into them every once in a while, because I travel quite a bit.

I have the stock axle in the front with a reversed eye spring,g/m power box.
chasis kit in the back but I needed a 3" lowering blocks to get it down.
It has a 400 chevy and 200 r4 tranny with a 85 monte ss rear end(its 2" to narrow)so used spacers to get it correct.
I don't think I droped it as much as you want to drop yours.
205-15 up front and 235-15 out back.

47 Tudor Guy, hang in there. I only put 23,000 on it the first 5 yrs. Then I had an accident with it (hit a deer) it was off the road for 2 years to the day. When I got it on the road again I was looking to make up for lost time, besides at 62 I may not have a lot of years driving it left. The long trips have all been since then. I also retired this spring so that gives more time to use it, just over 12,000 this year.

Yes I did left here on the 20th of Sept. We stayed in Lake Tahoe for two weeks. Drove all over that area then went to the show in Sacramento. My wife flew home on Sat. and Sun afternoon I left for Tampa. Went up through S. and N. Carolina to the Smokies on the way home. Got home on Oct. 18. 4 weeks to the day from when I left.
