Wonderful subject..I have several finished and one current project but I seem to be better at turning wrenches than working this computer.

I have a bunch of photos in photobucket but can't figure out how to get them over here.....Sure could use some help from somebody on this. I'm sure its probably a simple deal to those in the know...............

First post for me here,... incredible trucks on these threads.
I have questions about the size of wheels and tires on a lot of the trucks running the steel wheels and wide whites.
What size wheels and tires are you guys running?
51Gringo's truck is a good example of the wheel and tires I would like to look at getting.
I just took ownership of my Dads 50 Chevy, and I am having it bagged, and want to ditch the 17" billet specialty wheels he has on it, and get some steel wheels and wide whitewalls.

    Thanks.

If you want to run Bias ply tires on a bagged truck like this 640-15 is good size. I think its pretty much one of the biggest tires you can fit under a bagged truck and still allow it to lay the running boards.. BF Goodrich sells a nice set of these with 3 inch white walls.. Join the HAMB Alliance and you get a good deal on them...Youll earn your money back on just the tires...Im getting a set very soon plan on bagging mine as well...

A fellow Hamber owns this truck. Its on of my favs. He's running the BF Goodrich 640s

If you mess with the rear fenders a bit.. You can fit a G 78x 15 like this one.[IMG]

    Does a 53 Suburban count?

Mine has a MII, drop spindles, the c/m was raised 4" up into the frame..4 1/2" off the ground, no bags up front

No Limit Engineering "FatBar" 4-link with bags out back with a tasty step-notch.

    Belly ****on 350/350 combo

Should be driving by mid-late May...

51, just started working on it again. Got a 235 to replace the 215.

And a 55 I picked up not to long ago.

Gringo that truck is my all time favorite. Such a good job you did. How much do you have to raise the rear fenders to get those to fit??

Anymore pics of this truck? I've got a '49 sitting in the back yard that we're going to build next year. Just haven't decided on a style yet.

question for all you guys who have chopped your truck. 4" seems to be the rule of thumb for these trucks. is that how much you took out?

CTR, I sent you a pm.
Fenders were raised about an inch,
and yes, generally 4" is about standard for the chop on these.
    Max.
