Saw the flyer for it this week and figured I'd go since Roger Alan Wade is playing (bonus) and it should be a cool event for car turnout.

    Anyone else going?

Actually, I just looked, and it says that Sat July 4th, 2009 it's in Irvine, California. Am I missing something?

I already have a trip planned so I am going no matter what. I'll be in the area. :) I didn't know how far cali folks were willing to drive because I hear people from 2 zip codes away complain about it taking hours to get from one side to the other with all the congestion. (then again I might just be talking to whiners). I wouldn't know for sure.... my first run to Cali. :)

Haha. I thought maybe you thought it was in TN and then I thought maybe I was thinking it was and maybe I was missing something. So it is in Irvine haha. I might go. I don't mind driving. I loveeeeee driving. =] And I'm ALWAYS going on roadtrips. Did 16 hrs at a time. I wasn't driving, but I was riding along LOL. Roadtrips are the freakin best!!! Plus, it's only like 1-1 1/2 hrs. Really not that bad at all!

There is always so many car events happening here on the left coast that it usually has to be pretty dam good or special for some people to go up too a 100 to 400 miles to get there. Not like in the midle of the states where They go to great lenghts just to go to a high school football game that how much is going on back there. Sorry! And yes Hootennany is in So Cal.

Yeah I'll probably go nuts from the traffic when I get there. If we are going less than 65 around here for ANY reason on I-75 a finger goes in the air or you get ran over. :D ....much less dead stop and go traffic in Cali.... I hear the 405 is hell. Less than 75 in GA on the same I-75 stretch gets you the same response. Near Dalton, GA the speed (not posted) for rigs is 85 and cars 90+ and don't think the slow lane will save you from having a rig up your ass. Around here we "go".

I will be there. . .Great show. The actual Carshow has been cleaned up quite a bit. I stop going for two or three years after Stabbings, gang fights( or wannabe gangs. . .) lately I have to say that it has gotten way better, like it use to be 5 years or so ago. Last year was great! we rolled in there at 930 AM and started drinking, eating and partying with great music before we even went in. . . .:D

As far as the traffic, you just gotta point and go! Haha. It shouldn't be too bad unless you are traveling during the busy hours when people are going to work or leaving work (although it will be a Saturday, so maybe not too bad). Last time I went to Irvine I left at 6, 6:15 ish in the morning and got there by 7:30. Google says it should take me 1 hour and 11 mins, and it took me 1 hour and 15-20 mins. Not bad. And that was with traffic traveling from a dead stop to 30 mph for a little ways. And it's about 64 miles from here just to give you an idea. =] You just gotta go with the flow... but that's just coming from the girl that will jump in front of you if you try passing her on the shoulder. =D
