I bagged my 62 Impala. I got a kit from kustombuilder (Mike) here on the HAMB, and bought brackets from another place.
The front shock mounts are from AirRide. I traded a buddy some parts for them or i would have just made them. Again, very simple design.
I can't remember who i got the brackets from off hand, but will find out tomorrow and get back to ya.
It was SUPER easy and the brackets (aside from the front shock mounts, i welded them) are simple bolt ins.
The bag brackets were around 120 a pair and although they can be made pretty easily, it's not really worth the time lost at that price.

The easiest cars to bag. Lots of room and the link rear is cake. Depending how low you go and tire size will determine if you notch the frame. Cutting the rear tunnel and moving the brake line is a must. Also have a new drive shaft made with a 4X4 slip for the rear.

Buy all the components and make the brakets/cups/plates yourself. If you can weld its an easy job and you can spare more than a buck.

I hear ya, but if your time is worth anything and someone has a good product it's well worth going with. There are some cars it's not worth the time to fab them yourself.

Thats exactly why i bought instead of fab. True, they are not hard to make though, but that time went elsewhere on the car.
Either way, they are easy cars to bag.

Get a kit for the car. They are to simple to try and re invent the wheel. These cars are basic hand tool work. Sawzal, and a drill. Wiring (if you get a kit that offers it) easy.
My opinion is stay away from the digital controllers. Just use toggle switches to stay simple and just do front to rear. My .ooo2 cents.

I just ordered a kit from Boris. We got two of them for a 63 impala and a 63 four-door bel air. Should have it by end of week. Will show pics, and tell you how it works

Did anyone ever get any pictures of the bag set up and brackets on an X frame car? Who else makes the brackets for these cars other than the links posted?

Inquiring minds want to know. :)

My 63 Riviera is an "X frame" car and it lays frame, not sure if that counts since it's not a Chevy but I'm sure the frame is similar. I have pics if you're interested in seeing them.

How low are you wanting to go? I only ask because some of the prefabbed stuff you can buy ..."sometimes"... will only get to a certain point and if you want to go lower you're gonna have to do a little fab work to get there.

    Hope this helps

It doesn't really help as the Rivi is a totally different car then the 58-64 Chevy's.

I also think Harrison has better taste than wanting a car to look broken.

I believe air ride (bags)was a factory option. Get a factory manual. A lot of GM cars had air ride as an option. I remember a 58 Buick that would leak down over night. The dealer could not fix it so it got traded.

if you didnt know 58 is a one year only rear set up as it uses a upper wishbone instead of a panhard bar and i beleive the rear bushings are also a one year only item? if using stock trailing arms

Kp components or eBay has the brackets u will need. Front comes with lower plate, top cup and shock mount. Rear is top and bottom cups. Put slamn re 6's all around. With accuair set up is perfect and rides good. Was used on a 62 impala rag

Cwayne, Did you lose much steering arc with the shock mounted outside of the A arms after the bags were installed?

Also check out Welder series (alliance vendor) for brackets and what not. I have bought from them and was very pleased with their products.

That will depend upon the width, diameter, and offset of your wheels. It is possible to do it without losing any turning radius.

I searched for a while and maybe yall could give me some tips or point out a thread I missed.

I have a 62 wagon, the front cross member in on the ground. Im looking at sectioning or building a new one, to match my rear suspention, BUT then I'll just hit the lower control arms. Anyone have a solution they did or what not?
