Always the last thing to put into my ride, and nothing really fancy. That money can be spent better elsewhere. On long trips I'm usually singin' at the top of my lungs anyway

X2 In the '35 coupe a great sound system wouldn't be any count, p***engers (next victims) [IMG]I can faintly hear at idle most of the time their lips are moving but their sounds aren't audible on top of that I do not read lips, just expressions when we get a little sideways off the line.:D Never forget the day when I took the bosses son on a short ride up the street and back. I swear his eyes were as big as a Carson City silver dollars. So no radio here, at least in the '35.

Mine have the AM radios too. Since there is nothing on AM anymore, they are pretty much of no use.I can never hear anything when driving anyway so it doesn't matter.
Never even gave a thought as to putting a radio in the 34 I am building so I probably won't.

Coming from a car audio/recording/live sound background I have to have tunes available. I may not always listen but there has to be something to break up the long road trips. Now, if it's a really killer system, then it's probably going to be cranked up whenever I'm on the open road.
I might change my mind if I had a hot rod with a really nasty mill though :)

32gal and I went 50/50 on a Bose sound deck......have about 20 cd's downloaded. Its a great sound and portable, and compact,so we can switch and back and forth in between the Coupe and the Roadster. If we dont want it showing , it goes in the trunk.

    Best of both worlds

Well let me just say it is pretty cool to be crankin' Johnny Cash while driving a 31 Ford! It is not for everyone, but I like the tunes!

Last drive across country in my 32 I had my Ipod either in my ears or hooked up to a set of portable speakers, which the batteries lasted for 5-6 hours at a time so I changed them often. Long trips I need my music loud and short trips(under 3 hours) no tunes necessary.

People with basic stock radios who need a little variety in their music should look into the Redi-Rad. it's hooked up to the stock AM radio through the antenna and a power lead to the car. Has a receptacle for Ipods or mp3s or portable CD players you can keep hidden until use. I do agree with the sound of a V-8's exhaust note being great music to your ears, however.

open headers usually puts a damper on listening to my non existent radio much less thinking or hearing people screaming at me from the sidewalk, or anything really but I like it

It depends- you don't need tunes if you just take your car out on the weekends or even if you drive long distances, because those are adventures. If the car in question is your daily driver, and all you do is grind the same road, twice a day, five times a week- then tunes are a welcome luxury.

I've been driving my daily with no radio for about four months now, and I can't say I wouldn't use the radio if I had one.

    No radio.No ipod.no 8-track,c***ette or cd.
Best reason not to attend shows is not having to listen to someones music choice because the "have" to have music.
