I can see a use for this http://www.eastwoodco.com/shopping/product/detailmain.jsp?itemID=10838&itemType=PRODUCT mounts to your drums and allows you to tilt the car over on its side to work on the frame or rusty rockers, Has anyone built something like it ? or a better idea? $1200 seems like alot of $$$$ for it, even if it is German Beaulieu
Yeah, My buddy in St. Louis did something similar for a Dart, look at this link for ideas. http://www.angelfire.com/mo2/radrodder/rolloverunit.html Cheap, effective, and did I mention cheap? Mike Bynum
great segway -- In Michigan we called them rotisseries (like a pig roaster). You can build one if you get a couple of 1.5 Inch pillow block bearings & 2X4 rectangle steel stock & lots of work, AND if you know welding. They are not difficult unless you want to rotate a complete car. Frames or bodies are OK on a limited budget. Make sure about the mounting point strength. It's easy to twist metal.
I priced out metal to build a rotisserie to spin my ranchero sans engine and suspension, it is only about 150$ worth. Of course, you have to be able to weld it all together, but for 1200$ you could probably even pay to get that done. Then you can flip the car completely on either side. (or upside down if you really want to get serious) Hell, you are in los angeles - I'll weld the damn thing for you for 1200$
I do have to say tho that this rollover crap looks even easier and would certainly take up less space. Problem is it is slightly less useful for things like painting.
thanks , that looks good, I might double up on the curved pipe but I like the concept Beaulieu any other ideas ? I have heard of welding something onto old steel rims, I am not interested in a rotticerie set-up , just like the titler / roller idea ummmm just figured out that I cannot spell, its tilter......Duhhhh
