Anyone building a 39 to 46 dodge pickup?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by missouriman, Jan 26, 2007.

  1. After alot of searching I can't find but just a few pictures.
usually with chevy running gear from a late model (S-10)
just wanted to see what people are doing and how.
but all I can find are completed pictures and just of the out side of the truck.

guess that I am asking for pictures of the build.

    thanks.
ps I have the 46 dodge one ton pickup.

We have a 39 Dodge truck. It started as a 1 1/2 ton cab and chassis, but we will just use the cab, and grille. Dodgerodder posted some pics of the one he is building with his dad, look up his profile and you can see what he's doing, we wll be doing something similar. It's not going to be anything near original. Dodgerodder, if you read this do you have any recent update pics, the other pics inspired us.

My dad bought a 1941 dodge project from the HAMB classifieds that came with a 2001 Dakota frame. At first glance, the front looks too wide, but I'm sure we will make it work. I haven't really spent a lot of time looking at it.

There's a large 39-47 dodge truck forum at yahoogroups.com. A lot of stock trucks, but some modifieds. I've got a buddy in Bowman, ND with a yard full of them if you need anything, pm me for his phone number.

  7. thanks those pictures helped out.
for the width, I thought about a thin (2 or 3 inch) spacer the same shape as the inner seam of the fender.

or cut and narrow the frame right there.

the yahoo group, I have asked a few questions. posted information on how to rebuild the guages. but never got a reply. so I gave up.
my 46 guage rebuild pictures are in the files section under missouriman.
