I've often thought of different ways to set up dashboards and their styles, infact when remodeling the 38' dash in my 31' I thought of different ways to install gauges but they don't make aftermarket gauges but basically only round in shape.

So in my pondering I was curious if anyone here has taken a gauge, let's say an oil pressure gauge and taken it guts, built a different housing and lens****embly and installed it?

If so how did you do it? How did it work out? And you got any pics ?

I would think it's surely been done before but found nothing searching or looking for any examples.

I took the guts of a volt meter and put it in my stock Buick amp meter. Straight up is 12 Volts

I've swapped gauges from one panel from a donor of one brand the dash of a different and older rig.
I'd say it all depends on your level of creative tallent and skills.
