I was just told about a 50 chevy fastback (not a coupe) and was wondering if anyone has chopped one or has pics of one that has been chopped?? Its not like I need another project but I just cant say no to a cheap old car.
One day down the road, I really want a radical chop done on my 49 Chevy fastback (which is pretty much identical to a 50 model)...when funds permit it! I found a picture of a really nice stocker and modified the image to illustrate the concept I have in mind for my car...the radical chop and the new paint color! <img src=http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid102/p3e839ba84f17fdd4fbb3955f52748ab0/f9b453ec.jpg> I'm running different wheels...but the wild picture above gives you an idea of what a serious chop looks like on one of those. Chopping images gives you a small taste of what's involved in the actual job...to do this one, the roof had to be stretched and the old decklid area had to be laid down at a different angle. Alot of people like to angle or eliminate the pillar between the door and rear glass, but I like it left vertical and just brought straight down...I centered the chop on that post and stretched the roof forward from there to fit right. I'm gonna have to talk Choprods into doing my actual car one of these days!
