Archie, that is a big ride you got there. is that the one you are thinking of chopping. as big and long as it is, are you worried about ruining the proportion with a chop (it all ready looks chopped compared to the length)??? I can see you taking some crown out of the roof but not shortening the window openings

    cool rides.

I had my buddy photo shop the pick-up. That's the truck getting the chop as per picture.

The Carryall is way to rare (400 or so)to mess with. The Carryall was extended in 42 by 12" (between the rear windows). I cant see why they didn't get much more room and they did a poor job of it. I'm hoping to get here on the road in 09, just as long as the money holds out and life doesn't get any busier.

Here is a picture of my next project. It is a 1939 dodge coupe. It needs a ton of work. Also a picture of my plymoth wagon. Scott

Archie, any idea why they added the 12", are you going to remove it and bring it back to its factory look to allow the windows to flow better or is there something rare about the 12 addition. did they lengthen the frame also

I want to find a 48-54 (prefer up to 50 or so) panel and add windows to create a panel to match my woodie but for those days when the weather is not as good and its not good to have the wood in the rain.

I have no Idea why they added the 12", Could be for paper work behind the rear seat??? I wont mess with it, to much trouble and I have gotten use to the length, I do know what you mean about flow though.

They just buried the frame and rear bumperettes. I made a rear extension so the bumperettes appear out the rear like they where meant to be.

i just bought this ply 2 door wagon , 53/54 not sure title says 54 but it has an s 10 frame and had a 241 hemi in it but was removed before i bought it, so im putting a 477 inch bib block chevy in it with a 400 turbo has an s10 rear end which i will get it going with it and finish up a 9 inch for it with a locker and 3.20 gear. it has nearly all the body work done and is looking like a fun project for me, at least i will build it as a driver and not a race car as i have done for several yrs now... wish me luck

and i need bumpers for this thing and the center grill piece and the park lights for it ...........if anyone has any let me know... thanks

This is my 51 plymouth. I just bought a 91 s-10 so I can clip it and put a more powerful plant in it. It has the stock flatty in it right now and runs great but I want more power.

Nice car, but why bother with the front clip? The stock front end is plenty strong and probably rides smoother. You can upgrade it with disk brakes, atc, and that big V8 will bolt in easier than you can ever imagine.

  25. Ditto. Your probably the first guy to be able to pull off a painted grill and bumpers, too. Looks awesome.

Just thinkin ahead about layin rockers when bagged. Adding up the cost for the disc brake conversion, the drop spindles. It seems ta come out cheaper with the s10 clip. I end up with disc brakes already, the drop spindles for the s10 are under $200.00 add in bolt in bag bracketts being readily available and I think that almost makes my choice for me. I'm still undecided which way to go though. I got some killer info from shadowmtkustomz on doing a v8 plant, but baggin those old mopar frontends is alot of work cutting the frame ta weld in the cups n stuff and patchin it and then it still won't lay rockers without a body drop. I'm still thinkin and open ta input so let it roll. Thanx

Be careful of the S-10 clip. It's on the narrow side.I'm using one on my 50 Coronet, and I've got to run 2" spacers to get the wheels where they should be.

Wouldn't that give me a better turning radius when i'm laid out. My 49 needed more clearence for turning when laid out. Might be a good thing. Not sure but thanks for the info.
