We have the same one, except ours has the stainless steel covers instead of the light up plastic pilasters, the lights and guts are all behind there though, so when we get a dog with a lighter tail, we can get the plastics. Mike's Wurlizers are amazing.
Very few days go by that I'm not amazed at the talent or interests of the folks on this board. I swear if someone posted "Let's see your post-hole diggers" there would be hundreds of pictures of the coolest hole diggers on earth.
you know what u are right....my wife always says im crazy for some of the things ill pick up says no one else would want that crap little does she know theres a whole bigass group of people who are the same way...
Here's a side shot. Pics doesn't do it justice, it's all pearl from drum supply co.Rechromed, 39 Ford tail lights (devil lens), stainless lake pipes, pin striped, etc, etc.
damn there's some nice ones on here, i've got a 37 wurlitzer 500 but kinda gave up on working on it, just no time/ space/ plus car stuff tends to take priority over other toys. if anyones interested i've got it up in the classifieds. really do wish i had a good place to put it and shove an ipod or cd player with remote in it.
Don't have jukebox, yet... Someday yes, but not yet. But I've been workin' on this '68 electro-mechanic pinball lately: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v368/OttoGambler/Williams Lady Luck 1968/ When I bought it, it was missing all glass parts, balls, feet, and more! Someone had "painted" it with some lousy rattle-can paint, so I'll have to paint cabinet also. It was reallly dirty also, and had -don't know why- sawdust all over, and inside. In this video I'm testing electrical parts for the first time, it didn't have transformer from 230V to 110V earlier. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ocb0bz81S0I
Click on the picture. This one look any better? I'm a helicopter pilot and not a computer geek or photographer.
I've got about 100 or so old 78 rpm records, all kinds of music that I would like someone else to have really cheap! If anyones interested pm me, Gary....
Had a Seeburg when I was a kid..My grandmothers friend had in storage. Got it for like 300.00. The one I always wanted though was a 60'ish Continental..The best for all you guys that are into Modern like Heywood Wakefield and Dogbone couches..Jetsons type furniture/style. Very Bowling alley cool!!!
kinda weird how some off topic threads get closed and some dont ...........no slam on this thread just an observation..........
Mine's barely HAMB friendly with a 1963 build date. It's a Seeburg LPC1. Plays 45's and EP's. Lotsa fun during parties!
Jukes boxes was my father's business. He had about 60 machines in bars and restuarants up to the the late 1960's when he sold the company. The older jukeboxes had no value back then so what the new owners didn't want were broken up and hauled to the dump.
Here's mine '58 Chantal Meteor '59 AMI "I" '60 Rockola Regis '61 AMI Continental Mk1 As a quad, I can't change CD's but I can push big jukebox buttons with my knuckle. Besides, CD's SUCK compared to vinyl
Camped out when we went to Bonneville in '71 and '72. '71 they shut the course down one afternoon acct wind and we headed for Wells to get a room, decent meal and shower. Found a Roadhouse with restaurant/bar, rooms and whatever else out back on the way in Oasis. Nice old Bubbler Juke box had Patti Page and the Tennessee Waltz for a nickle a play. Felt like I was in the Twilight Zone. Next year same deal with the wind, got to Oasis and the place was abandoned, front door swinging in the breeze, so it was on to Wells. Wondered then and many times since whatever happened to that old Jukebox.
I've kinda scaled back on the number of jukeboxes I have. I used to have a LOT! Now I like so much other stuff that I just stay broke buying/selling/collecting everything weird! I still have the Wurlitzer 850 Hotrod Mike restored for me before I had a clue. I mostly kept my collection of weird wallboxes, speakers and juke related promo stuff, really interesting for jukebox collectors...not so much for hot rod guys. Heres a few photos of some of the junk, most I've posted somewhere before.
Wow! Coooool! Now I need a Wurlitzer 800 AND a 58 Chantal Meteor like KripFink's!! Why does the stuff I like to collect take up so much room??
Scored this one right here in the HAMB classifieds. Rowe AMI Cadette, probably one of the least popular jukes made.....but I always wanted an affordable 'box, and I like it.Thanks to ZomBrian for selling it to me, and GMCBubba for storing it until I could pick it up.
I've got 3, a 1952 Seeburg C, a 1954 Seeburg R, and a 1941 Wurlitzer 750M with a light up back door. I'll post pictures later. They are a ton of fun to have in your home. And the old jukeboxes are built like tanks, they will last for generations.
