Hard to tell in this picture but the light colour is actually a silver metallic thread. Was available in different colours with gold or silver (maybe other) metallic thread.
I think it was offered in some GM cars in the late 50s, such as the Bonneville. At one time I did a search for it and found that there are still some suppliers of it. Wish I could have a moulded carpet set made with black trinidad for my 62 Continental
Per the thread referenced above, I spoke with Harry Samuel as recently as last year. He has the '58 Bonneville stuff. Very, very pricey. Not many colors. I saw it in the 55 or 56 Chevrolet that Austin Speed Shop did. Beautiful stuff. I want some for my '61 Coupe de Ville
I've found black with gold and black with silver thru one of the big interior places. It is about 1 1/2 times as much $ as the regular stuff.
You can still get certain colors. I think it was @Nads that bought the last of some color they were phasing out?
According to their website, they still have several colours, but I haven't actually tried to order it yet. I want some black/gold for my '39.
Still on the look out for some of this stuff. Any one seen any? an old upholstery shop? carpet store?
I have been looking for black or any color really Trinidad carpet for over 10 years now with no luck. There was a guy on ebay about 4 years ago that had 4 yards of it and sold in hours.
