Anyone ever build a center-steer car? Steering setup?

I am sure this is more of a racing thing, but has anyone built a car with a center-seat? Looking through the nostalgia photos, it seems common in a lot of old coupe and roadster applications.

Anyone ever build one? What is the steering set-up like, a modern funny car?

 

thier was one at BP in detroit this past weekend and he used a schroder column and the linkage ran inside of the left side of the car and out the cowl

will have to look for the photo i took as i did get one
