So as much as I like the look of a Bop Top, they're well outside of my price range. I'm wondering if anyone around here has made something similar on their own? I've seen threads where guys talk about having made them, or the final pics, but never a tech thread that covers something more similar to this as opposed to the more traditional looking top irons that have the top hump.
Here's a couple of pics of mine. I made these after looking at a set of original Ford Cabrio irons which were very complex compared to those on a roadster. These are simple and they fold down behind the seat. I fastened the old tent material on just to have an idea of what a top would look like. If you have any questions let me know. Tim
Here's another thought: I had The Moose here on the hamb photo shop this pic adding color and a top. You might try this to see what shape you like. Find a top you like and see if he can stick it on your car. Tim
Top irons from a 1970's MGB will fit a roadster with some modifications. I found this to be easier than starting from scratch, and ended up with a top that would fold down. If you want more info, e mail me at springgrange@personainternet.com
Search roadster top , there's a number of threads , there's even a couple w/dimensioned plans.... dave
