It drives me nuts when someone spends hours and hours and loads of money on a car and then they put Briz(below) bumpers on a car. It looks like they ran out of steam. Just use 49 Plymouth ripple bumpers. Scan0027.jpg

You could cut them into 2 smaller pieces and do a split bumper treatment as well.

"Then I guess the real issue is the definition of fake. Only way ***s are fake is if they're on a man. Otherwise they are simply custom, modified or souped up" . Spoken like a true hotrodder w/an At***ude, & putting the best construction possible on that situation. Me likey... :D .
As far as bumper license plate surrounds, '49 chev had nice looking ones, albeit steel. Done to death, but would look good w/those bumpers. Suppose you could get one, or fabricate(carve) a replica, then cast it in aluminum. It'd match then.

***s on a man is like an oddity. Like a tunner wing on a Merc. Fake is like a man dressed as a woman. Far away and it p***es. Up close and you know there is something not quite right. -----Drink a few to many in a bar and close to closing time, how do they look. On a fat fendered car, they do look a bit better. All I can say is it's a good thing I don't have ***s, I'd never get anything done!

Maybe it would make more sense to post pictures of cars from the 30's rather than the 40's and 50's.

Here is another 30's car with the eyesore Briz bumpers on it. LYNWOOD157-vi.jpg

Thanks I am well aware of what it is. The OP asked about bumpers on '30's customs so I showed one.

& if those bumpers were the thin 3rib style, they'd look a lot better due to proportions.

Those 49 Plymouth bumpers look too big for a 35 Ford though the fit the big Merc well.

I don't know - the ones the OP mentioned for sale appear to be 3 rib and look REALLY good...
