Anyone ever use Leather strap hood latches?

    I love the look, but I thought that the springs helped relieve the tension on the straps, so when they got wet, they didn't have enough tension to stretch. I would guess that wet leather might let the hood wiggle.If that doesn't happen, I'm gonna use them to hold down my rumble seat lid.Larry

    That Limeworks set is nice, but $250.00 made me sit right down and rink another beer!

    I love this look. I am trying to develope the same thing to hold my gas tank in place. ( I should cheat and hide a couple of bolts too!) Not on this car, but on a 31' with the tank in the back seat area.

  6. There's a bunch of different styles to pick from here, all of them are nice looking. I used 2 inch leather strap and some springs and stainless boat tie downs. I have the hood held on with a square alum. tube that acts as the radiator support. The hood lips go under that for a very secure fit. I wouldn't trust the straps (on mine) to hold the hood on the car. Mine are more for looks then function.
