Doesn't look like your having much luck here in this social group, did you try the main board?
I've read a bunch of threads there about the Jag IFS installation, most of them trucks but I have read where it was installed in p***engers cars.
    Good luck with your build.

  3. Zap , I've done many Jag IFS swaps . Have not done a '57 ford yet though .
Am currently installing one in a '51 Pontiac Coupe for a client .

Wished you were just a short ride away, I'd swing by and be your grunt for a couple days. Would even buy lunch. NZ is in my bucket list just not doable right now. Any general advise you can throw my way would be welcome.

  6. Zap , the link Jeff posted is prob not very relevant to your '57 . The pickup frames are really simple and completely different to your '57 . When you get into the swap I would encourage you to use the stock Jag mounts if at all possible , it WILL give a nicer ride . Make sure you use the first ( lower ) section of the Jag column as it has a "slip" in it to allow for the movement in the subframe mounts. Don't use the stock Jag front shocks - they're way too long and ugly !
I can give you the part number for the shocks I use , You'll see the top shock mounts I use in the pics in my albums- Workshop jobs .

    Rod .

Rod, you're absolutely right most of the swap posts found so far are straight frame trucks and the 57 car frame has a large upward arch so not a simple notch and weld in. I'd like to retain stock ride height as car is already low enough with a 3'' channel (body drop). I usually try to gather as much information as possible prior to starting a project. Been thinking this is the way to go and then was offered a FREE 80 jag so its now almost 100% sure it will happen. Liked the way you mounted the IRS using the oem gage. Would be great to get shock part numbers.

  8. Part number for the Gabriel shocks is 69689.
85-88 dodge colt rear shocks, also monroe part number 33133

If you PM me your email address I can send you some photos of the '51 Pontiac I'm currently fitting jag IFS and IRS into . May give you a better idea of what you're into .
