The `64 F100 that I just ripped apart for parts had a really kool aftermarket rear bumper on it that had to be on there since new. It is very well made, has a hitch, and a license plate mount/light. It`s so nice that the people that made it were proud enough of it to etch their name into the metal across the bumper face. Just curious to see if ayone remembers this place, hoping to find a lil history on it. Google turned up nothing. It reads: "McCALEB & PHELAN MTR. CO TRENTON,TNN"
Rear bumpers were optional on trucks for years - I worked at several GM dealerships and saw them doing that well on up into the eighties. Many dealers (especially in rural areas that sold a LOT of trucks) would have their name stamped into these aftermarket bumpers for advertising.
