I wish. It’s been about five years since I attended “car week” and all the events, the Sunday Concours is a must do event for any car person no matter what type of four wheel ( or three) vehicle you prefer. There are many events on the peninsula during the week that are no cost to attend.
I'm going to the races at Laguna Seca tomorrow and then will be in Monterey on Saturday... will check out the Councours de' Lemons and try to get into some of the auctions
I was supposed to be taking my woodie this year but had to bow out because I had to much going on around here to get it ready. Hopefully I can get another invitation for next year’s event because I promised my dad that I would take it before he passed.
I’ll have to take some more recent pictures of her but this is the way it’s been sitting for the last 12 years or better. The last time it was shown (can’t remember which it was AACA or V8 Club) it scored a 998 and has been sitting ever since. It was used in “Walk the Line” and after getting a few nicks and dents we went through it and Dad started showing it on a larger scale. It’s won the Dearborn Award, AACA Grand National Championships, Preservation Awards, numerous senior awards and best of shows. Been in several national magazines/club newsletters (Old Cars Weekly, National Woody Club, V8 Club of America) The last show pop was wanting to take it to was Pebble Beach after getting his first invitation before mom died in 2020. When Covid hit and I lost my dad and sister I couldn’t take it until this year I thought…... Soooooo I’ll submit the new paperwork and hopefully get the invite for next year.
only way I ever get to that one is if they do a custom/magazine cover car spotlight again and Taboo gets invited.
Thanks for the photos. My dad had a '51 woodie. I think it was the first new car he bought after the war. He talked about it until he died at 100+. He would have loved your car.
I don't have the time this year, but a bunch of people from my work are headed there starting today. Saw a bunch of really nice cars headed south from Marin County in really expensive cars.
