    Nope.
They call it a "run" but I can't stand being kept hostage all day long.
Plus, like all the big organized SHOWS, there's too many lookie-touch-climb onto non car poeple for me.

I haven't been since the Early Times were sent packing, the city thought they knew how to run a car event, just invite everyone... The result is too many dogs, baby strollers, skate boarder, bicycles and non-car folks milling around thinking it's another day at Disneyland, no respect for the cars....

Not this year. Normally a good time, some quality cars come out.

My buddy, who has been going for the last 17 years, talked me into it. We drove down there Thursday morning, checked in, dump our stuff at the motel and headed to Front Street. We finally found a place to park. The show hadn't even started yet but the place was a mecca for tourists. Seems a lot of people park their daily drivers saving spots for later when they bring their cars down and leave them all weekend long. Buddy confirmed this as he was leaving his car there and walking back to the motel.

After lunch, I told my buddy that I wasn't going to stay, I didn't care for the venue and drove back to the motel. The wife and I waited till dinner time and walked back to Front Street. Found a decent restaurant, looked in a few shops and drove home at 9 pm.

    You nailed it....
It was a great little deal, until the city saw some $ signs, and (unfortunately) destroyed what it once was.

I was visiting So-Cal back in 2002 and spent a night looking at great cars in Temecula - it was great :)

Now let's see when the next trip USA will happen ....

I'm bringing my car there this morning. I only live about 10 miles up the road. The Friday night cruise is fun.

I'm not a big fan of this type of show. Like others have said, there are too many non-car type spectators that don't respect your car. :(

On the other had, my paint job sucks and I'm going to repaint anyways. And my car is not a "show car", it's a beater/driver and I park it on the street all the time! ;)

Plus, while I think hot rod guys like my car, most of the non-car people will walk right by it in favor of a chromed up T-bucket or a fancy paint 55 Chevy.
