Running into a really strange issue.. Truck ran fine for a few test runs.. Now seems to run out of gas quickly after starting it..

Using a small motion pro 2 liter gas jug ment for testing Atvs.. What I'm running into is now the needle seems to be sticking and not letting fuel in very fast as all..

I took the inlet out and with the needle if I blow into it if I tap the needle I have to blow pretty hard to get the needle to release..

I don't think I have hardly any pressure when using the plastic tank.. But have run a few other cars this way..

Wondering if anyone is using the stock tank without a pump when running a v8..

For info its a 28 roadster pickup 59a flathead running a single 97.

I can't get the stock A tank to gravity feed a single Holley 94 on a hopped up banger with out running out of gas especially when the tank got below 3/4 full. Tried larger fuel line, inlet fitting, etc. and finally gave up and installed a fuel pump as I could not get my mind around pressurizing an old stock tank that I was setting in the same place with.
    Lets see what others say....

  3. No experience with it besides, thinking that I would set it up to run a pump at all cost.

Same thing I was thinking and tried.. Took all the filters/sediment bowl off... Straight line to the carb.. Made sure everything was lower the tank.. Funny thing was when I put some old wheels and tires on to try to get the shake out of the wire wheels it lowered the rear by maybe 2" and it made the issue so much worse.. Less drop I suppose..

To add to above statement.. Since real estate in slim on a stock A framed pickup.. The thought I have in my mind at the moment is making a tank to sit under the bed between the frame that would gravity feed from the stock tank.

Using an inline pump that would be coming from the lower tank.. That way I could fill the tank from the stock location and have extra capacity..

I have seen a few diesel guys do it with in bed tanks and a switch valve.
