manual steering box for 1956 Coronet? I want to open mine up and see where all the slack is coming from.
Your '56 hardtop is looking good. Here is a quick guide to steering box adjustment. http://www.moparfins.com/repairs/Steering/Adjust_Steering_Box.htm
Usealy you would only give it about 1/2 to 1 1/2 turns if you go more than that it will get tight when you turn it all the way to stop the wear spot is in the straight position where you drive the most if it takes more than that it is probably worn out and you would have to fined parts for it. Maybe better to find good used one not sure what is avalable in part for it.
Koob, the 55-56 Dodge and Plymouth use ths same box. I have a 58 Dodge manual, not sure if it would be of any help. Let me know and I'll upload some images.
Ive got a 56 dodge shop manual if you need i can email you or text you some page shots of what you need. Pm me if needed.
