I am designing a multi carb linkage in my head, and might want to use some double-sided heims. Does anyone have a source for these?

Noble Speed sells them in a kit to make linkage, not sure if he would sell them separate.

I've bought from them in the past. Best prices I found and good quality. Can take a while on their site because they've got about a bazillion different parts.

Some of mine are McMaster, some are ACE hardware but the best ones along with pillow blocks and bell cranks come from Kinsler Fuel Injection catalog or online.

I've had no problem at all finding 10-32 heim ends. The local Ace Hardware store has them in their bins, but not cheap. I found them by several sellers on Ebay, and got a bunch of them for $2.50 each to do my dual quads on my tunnel ram.

They don't or didn't used to get whiny about small orders either. Some supply houses have minimum orders = stock orders but they are happy to sell you just what you need/want. You need your best decoder ring on when figuring out their online catalog times though.

The double ended from Midwest Control are exactly what I was looking for. Thanks

So do you all think the 10-32 is hefty enough, or should I bump up to 1/4”? This is for a staggered four Strombergs, but all in one, not progressive.

  14. 10-32 should be fine since you're pulling on the threaded end, not bending it like a banana. I did use 1/4 on my t-bucket because that's the size I needed for the heims I had.

Everything else on my other cars is 10-32

  15. I'd like to throw a quick question out since we're on this topic.
Does anyone know who sells a 12 inch long aluminum hex shaft for the linkage, I'm not having any luck finding that length for this carb.

McMaster sells hex stock, and you can cut it to length, stick it in your lathe, and drill and tap the ends. They sell the left handed taps, also. Be sure to turn that little line around the end with the LH thread so you'll remember later.

what, you don't have a lathe? Get with it!

  18. I was chuckling reading the cutting it and threading it on a lathe, even more so at your last line, because you know I don't have that fancy equipment LOL

This is what the linkage will link. Fresh from Uncle Max. Set to live atop a 409.

Alky Digger sells various length 10/32 threaded hex shafts. They are aluminum.

I haven’t beaten this setup yet but am amazing at how solid it all feels. I think it was built by Moriarity at least it was on the manifold when I got it. If it would help, I would be happy to get some close ups for you. This is on my 283

@swade41 if I may ask, what brand are those splined shafts and black linkage arms? I found a stash of them at the swap meet and they work great but I’d like to order another length of that shaft to correct an issue.

  30. That's an Enderle setup, Good Vibrations Racing sells their kits, shafts are listed after the linkage kits

Edit : they even sell that damn hexagon shaft I was looking for, all the stuff I order from them and I never scrolled down that far LOL
