Technical Anyone have a source for carb linkage heims?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by alchemy, Jul 19, 2024.

  1. I have either Moroso or Mr. Gasket 1/4-28 heim ends on my Ford. I used round aluminum rod from Ace for the shaft, I milled flats on each end so I can get a wrench on it.

Thanks! That’s exactly what I was looking for. Glad you found the hex shafts too.

It would seem that you have found the pieces you were looking for. While I was at my garage this morning, I tried to get a couple of detail shots of the mounts on my manifold. As I was looking at it, I became more impressed with the engineering…..so just in case , here you go

I used 10-32 for all my dual carb installations, and even used 3/16" aluminum rod I cut and threaded to make it all up. With the stress of pulling on linkage being extremely low it wont break. Just be sure to use 10-32 jam nuts at the heim ends to help keep it locked in place and strengthen the whole setup.
The heim ends also have the advantage of reducing the pedal pressure since they move more freely than other rod attachments. I use 3/8" heim ends on any clutch linkage I build also, and they make slight angles work better, and the felt pedal pressure lighter.

    They don't, still.

    Their warehouses are largely robot-picked.

    The robots don't care.
